block popups in mozilla

mozilla script preferences used to have a checkbox for 'open unrequested windows'... the mozilla I have (came with stock slack9) doesn't appear to have that checkbox. isn't there a prefs.js or something that I can edit though that will fix this?

thanks for any help,
jpbarto

It should be under:
Privacy and Security -> Popup Windows

Try upgrading to 1.4

it seems mozilla has now included a popup manager (shame on me for not keeping up to date). I put in '*' as the only site to block popups from. it seems to be working....
