block firefox automatic redirection

hi

env :kernel 2.6.12 firefox 1.0.6
prb i changed network.http.redirection-limit
parameter form 20 (default) to 0
to block redirection, but the behavior is still unsatisfying

what happens : the forst time i'm still redirected then i'm no more redirected also if i click to link...

my achievemnts are :
i do not want when i browse a site that this site autmatically redirect me whithout my intervention,i still want redirection clicking on links ,so sumarizing i want to be aware of redirection,if i pass the cursor over a link that for me is useful i want to be redirected because i choose it...
i do not want anymore to see such frames...
the site is no more available, you will be redirected to this site..then may be the new site contains malaware...

i hope to have well explained the problem because english is not my mother tongue

thanks in advance

Maurizio

I understand very well. I also wish I had this feature in Firefox. Meanwhile, you may want to browse with "links -g" (graphical "links") or Dillo, both of which don't follow redirections.
