Blender is logging me out.

I've only just started using blender in Linux (used to have a win98 partition for this *shudder*), anyway every time I make a bigish movement in the 3d window the screen flickers and I'm at the login screen.

Is this my 16mb graphics card (I'm a very poor high school student) or a config that I can fix?

Have you tried initiating blender from the terminal so you can see if any messages are output into the terminal stating the cause of the problem?

I don't think it's your graphics card issue...
It's because I've got a lot of PC much worse than yours(being a Linux fan... I'm trying lower end machines to run Linux, ranging from AMD-K6/2 to AMD 64)... I've used blender on K6/2 but not yet experienced any crash...
You might want to try other Linux distro, later version of Blender, etc.
Hope this helps

Fedora 6 with blender from Fedora repositories.
Any how the terminal theory won't work any way since the computer stops responding while the screen flickers for a second and a bit then I'm looking at my login screen.

The X server is crashing and restarting to the login screen. So I guess it is a graphic card driver problem.
