BitTorrent Programs for Linux
What are some good NATIVE Linux torrent programs? I used uTorrent in Windows and enjoyed the performance. I heard its performance is comparable when run under wine, but I'd prefer a native program.

I currently have Transmission under GNOME desktop, but I was wondering if there are *better* ones or a way to improve the performance of Transmission. I can't port forward it because I am on my school network.

BT programs I've used in Linux:
Transmission BitTorrent BitTornado Azureus hope this helps :) |
If you have KDE installed, try giving Ktorrent a spin.

I have used Transmission for a few years and loved it. I am currently using Deluge and I think I like it even more, plus it sends and receives data encrypted.

I just tried rtorrent today (bored at work) after seeing this thread and its pretty neat. Its ncurses based, so I can just open a terminal remotely and run it in a screen session. I *love* terminal apps.

I don't use it for pirating or that kind of nonsense. I use it mainly for when I have to get new distros or other junk like that.

I was using mldonkey in the past.
And some people recommended to use deluge. Right now I prefer uTorrent, though. |
I like rtorrent and deluge. rtorrent is a cli torrent app, so you might want to read the man page to get to know the commands first.

asdfasdfFYI, KTorrent works in Gnome. I've not had any problems with it.
