Bittorrent (ncurses)

I've searched for this topic and found a few hits, however none seemed to address my particular issue so I'm making this new thread. Hopfully its new enough =]

I have my slackware system running btdownloadcurses (python script) with a pretty simple but nice looking ncurses interface. The problem is, the system is behind my gateway system acting as router. I have utilities to forward any needed ports to the linux machine with no problem, however I need to know what ports they are. I've learned from other posts that the typical ports to forward are 6881-6889 which my gateway is configured to traffic to my linux box. However, I see only ONE connection when I download files via torrents.

I'm hoping there is a parameter to set a port range for the client to use, as that would solve the problem right there.

Anyone know why the client wouldn't connect to other ports? I'm assuming the client listens? If it connects then it shouldnt have been a problem to begin with, as outgoing connections dont need my gateway to forward ports.

I'm not running iptables or anything, as its completely behind my gateway.

Any help is appreciated, thx

I'm at work right now so i can't check for you, but if you run btdownloadcurses (btdownloadcurses.py for me) with no other arguments, it should give you a list of all possible commands (set upload rates, number of connections/open files, etc.)

I'm pretty sure there is one to set the ports

The default should be 6881 when you run it with no setting. At least, it's the one i always get connected to when i check the tracker stats.
