Question Bitchx SSH/Tunneling set-up (OpenSSH)

Hi everyone,

I've been Google'n for the past 4 days trying to get some guidance on this issue. I am a 1 month newbie to SuSe (linux in general). Please forgive me if this is an obvious question.

I am curretly trying to configure Bitchx so as to route through my SSH proxy tunnel. As per the /set options I've adjusted Socks Host & Port to and 1080 accordingly. However, when I do /whois, it reports my actual IP instead of my SSH Host IP which I know. I know my SSH tunnel is functioning, because I run my web-browser via the SSH proxy tunnel. When I do an online proxy check the appropriate IP is shown.

For your info, tunneling/port fowarding is set using OpenSSH via port 1080 using guardster's host address.

Is there anything I should add when starting Bitchx at the terminal prompt?

Can anyone out there kindly shed some light on this issue please? I'm at my witts end with Google. PLEASE, PLEASE!!!

Thanks amigo's....
