I've been Google'n for the past 4 days trying to get some guidance on this issue. I am a 1 month newbie to SuSe (linux in general). Please forgive me if this is an obvious question.

I am curretly trying to configure Bitchx so as to route through my SSH proxy tunnel. As per the /set options I've adjusted Socks Host & Port to 127.0.0.1 and 1080 accordingly. However, when I do /whois, it reports my actual IP instead of my SSH Host IP which I know. I know my SSH tunnel is functioning, because I run my web-browser via the SSH proxy tunnel. When I do an online proxy check the appropriate IP is shown.

For your info, tunneling/port fowarding is set using OpenSSH via port 1080 using guardster's host address.

Is there anything I should add when starting Bitchx at the terminal prompt?

Can anyone out there kindly shed some light on this issue please? I'm at my witts end with Google. PLEASE, PLEASE!!!
