Hi all. Its very simple. I'm running BitchX-1.1-final on slack 12.2, and I'm trying to use a SOCKS proxy, so I set the SOCKS_HOST and SOCKS_PORT variables and it doesn't work. I don't get any error when connecting to an irc server or anything, but a /whois clearly shows my real ip-address rather than the proxy.

Not that it would make any sense anyways, but I know the proxies are fine because I've tested them with other clients... I just tried it with my xchat and and the net_proxy variables and everything is great.

Is there some kind of bug in this version of BitchX causing this problem? I've googled and googled but no one seems to have had the same problem.

nevermind i fixed the problem. I downloaded the binary from the bx website and it works fine
