BitchX and ident ... How can I change it?


Here's my problem... when I'm ircing with BitchX .. I always get
1001@something.com
How can I change the 1001 (my ident) to wahtever I want?

Thanks in advance ...

After that you need to reconect. If you see the same 1001 (which is your user's UID) try turning off the identd, run by inetd (find the proper line containing 'identd' in /etc/inetd.conf and comment it, after that kill -1 <pid of inetd>) or standalone (kill <pid of identd process>)
