BIND Update

Need to upgrade BIND to 9.3.2-P1, 9.2.7 or 9.2.6-P1. Having no luck finding an rpm file for it.

Redhat Enterprise v. 3

Anybody know where to find that? I tried to download a tar for that build but am unable to run the config file.

Update. I was somehow able to get gcc on the box (me <-- ).

So I had the source for BIND 9.4.0. Ran ./configure, that looked like it ran fine. Ran make, that looked good also. Is that it? Or is there more I need to do? BIND still shows as version 9.2.4.

You should also run "make install" to install the software. After that stop the running named daemon using your startup scripts and the run:
Code:
/usr/local/sbin/named -u named
to start the new version of bind. Mind that -u is used to define the user under which named is running (you should check to see if that user is named). If everything is OK then modify your startup scripts to run the newest version.

Regards
