Clone CD is to Windows as _______ is to Linux

Fill in the blank.

Please

Nero is easy drag drop one stop shop. Whats a good one stop drag drop Linux CD writing app?

One app that provides ease of use multiple burning modes for mp3's, mp3's to cda's, data yada yada yada....

i'm still partial to xcdroast, but cdbakeoven is pretty nifty.

but the best (and the core for above) is cdrecord. I don't even know if there _is_ a command-line burner tool for Win.

i like xcdroast as well, i hear good things about k3b, but all it does on my machine is segfault

I use (and like) xcdroast myself.
But, you still have to encode on the command line
(using lame myfile.wav mynewfile.mp3 -b 256).
and turn mp3s into wav files yourself
(using mpg123 -w mynewfile.wav myfile.mp3).

I know if I had Mandrake, I'd give eroaster a shot:

You don't have to have Mandrake to burn CD's with Eroaster???

Install it, use it, love it.

I'd also suggest checking out Arson, although it still needs some work it's great for where it's at.

Cool

I compiled k3b from source on my slack machine, and it looks almost just like Nero, works well... I've never really gotten disk to disk to work right on my machine yet, but I've got an old real actual SCSI burner so it might be that.

Cheers,

Finegan

Fin, right now I cannot remember what I had problems with when compiling k3b, but do you remember if you had to do anything out of the ordinary with it to get it to compile? All I can remember is it had something to do with QT I believe... although I could be completely wrong. (Slack 8.1)

Cool

It was a long time ago... like the week Slack 8.1 came out. I can't remember having to do anything more than a normal .configure, make, make install... maybe if you grabbed whatever version of it was current from that month?

Cheers,

Finegan

Cool, I'll look into it, thanks. I had it suggested to me by a fellow board member, but ran into too many problems trying to compile it, and eventually lost interest because I was perfectly happy doing the command line thing, but I would like to at least give it a shot.

Thanks again
