best media media distro?

hi there,

I've just been looking at Elisa mutil media application at the moment and i'm having a bit of issues with the installation, so I thought i'd just come here and ask a few questions.

I'm looking for a mutli media system like Elisa, i'm in no way locked into Elisa, but It does look pretty good and i'm wondering what the best distro to use on it would be, a distro that has most of if not all of the required packages and would be as simple as running the installation process, also what desktop software does it need? Do i need to run Gnome or KDE or can i just run the TWM?

look at http://www.fluendo.com/elisa/developers.php they have the requirements for elisa and there aren't any binaries for it, so you will need to compile from source(elisa, the req should have binaries). As for the distro, it doesn't really matter.
