Best mail program
I have two distributions of Linux - Red Hat & Mandrake - I am going to install one as a "mail server". (which would be best for the below situation)
What I would like to do is use the linux platform to be in the middle of my home network of 3 Win98 Pc's. The Linux server would act as an internet gateway for any PC. Then I would like the linux server to have an application that dials my email ASP once an hour and collects my emails and stores then until I can then log into my Win98 PC and collect those emails without going online - maybe in the morning. The idea is that I recieve large application files and I have an "all you can eat" ASP, so I would like to use the time from 1am to 6am to collect my emails and have them ready when I log in at 8 am in the morning. I am a newbie, but I install application s/w all the time - all I need is a point in the right direction so I can get the solution correct the first time (or close too) Thanks |
