Best distributed computing project?

I want one that is medically oriented and runs on the KDE desktop.

This is the SETI@home kind of thing.

You want http://folding.stanford.edu, their Linux forum, and the finstall script described there. That setup lets the program start automatically on boot, stop cleanly on shutdown, and run without interfering with anything else on your box. Once you have that installation complete you can easily make KDE desktop icon links to the files FAHlog.txt and MyFolding.html to monitor the program's progress.

And please don't cross-post any more. One post to one topic will get you all available useful replies because many members regularly monitor the list of 0-reply posts on all forums.

Welcome to the folding community and best wishes.
