Beryl makes gnome freeze/break *SOLVED*

I had beryl (SVN) installed (on my Gentoo 64-bit box) working all nicely. After I updated my system (emerge --update --deep world) it no longer works - but breaks GNOME. When it loads, beryl works fine (the desktop cube), but GNOME starts playing up. The GNOME-panel doesn't respond, when I try open stuff on my desktop it doesn't do anything. If I launched it from a terminal, Cntrl-C closes it (sometimes), but after that I can't type anything, if I try change window (to an open window or desktop), I can not get back to the terminal. Etc

I only once managed to get it to work, I launched it from a terminal, logged in under my username and then su, then launched beryl using "beryl --display :0.0". However, I could not reproduce this

Please help

Joel

EDIT: it somehow fixed itself

I am having the same exact problem on my gentoo machine. I rebooted recently, and when I started gnome with beryl, all the beryl stuff works fine but all the gnome stuff is frozen(menu's, natilus, "start bar"). When I kill beryl all the gnome stuff works fine again. Anybody know whats going on here?

Seems to have been fixed by the x11r7.2 upgrade

I fixed this issue on my machine. In gentoo this problem was introduced with xorg-server-1.1.1-r5. I switched back to xorg-server-1.1.1-r4 and it was fixed.
