So, I went away for the weekend, and left my machine running and connected to my ISP (as usual).

I get home to a blank screen, and a machine not doing much. (I dual boot to winXP, and it is the default LILO option).

So I go ahead and fire it up. problem is, I cannot connect to the internet.

EVerything was working fine before I left. Now I am not so happy.
I can connect with winxp as usual, but my linux doesnt want to cooperate. the machine runs fine otherwise. no problems.

So i trail /var/log/messages to see what is going on (i am using ben p's user-space driver). i seem to be failing at CHAP authentication. more frustrating is the fact that nothing has changed since I left. so messing and messing with the chaps-secrets file has left me in a rather ill-temper...

any thoughts?

bellsouth adsl uses pppoe....

thanks, but it turns out that it was a problem on bellsouth's end! I called them up and cleared it up directly. Thanks, though!
