I have been installing and configuring beagle over the past couple of days using the debian Sid repository on my Etch system. I now have all my emails and associated attachments indexing well but the system is unable to index my regular files, exiting with the following debug message:

No, I don't know a thing about that, I have been running beagle a long time, and haven't seen that one.
The beagle devs and people interested in it hang out on gimpnet, in channy #dashboard. I would advise
checking in there during the work week days, somebody will help you. Be patient, the devs are in and out all day.
Could I bump this back up. I must admit to some anxiety about tackling the devs in realtime! If anyone else is having the same exception that would be a good start.
I wish I could help you with this... Beagle has become sort of a hobby within a hobby for me,
and has been a lot of fun. I'll bet you would learn a great deal with an attempt to compile it.
I am on FC5, and the package manager found all the needed -devel things in order to compile. If something is missing, or the wrong version, the compile will fail, but will provide information as to how it
failed, may be very useful.
In that IRC channy, there will be maybe 75 people, and 3 of them will be devs. The rest are just folks like me who are interested. Further, you may actually have found a bug in the code, filing it in bugzilla WILL get someone looking at it. Good Luck!
Installing Beagle from source did not resolve the problem so I took a further step back and installed mono 1.1.15 via the installer that came with the download from the mono website and then beagle from source, all seems to work well now.
It looks like that on my system it is ok to install all the dependencies from the stable, testing and unstable repositories (as necessary) but to install mono and beagle from source or the installer that comes with the mono download.
The advantage of installing from source was the detailed debugging that it provided.
Will tag this thread mono beagle debian
Now where is that Tuvan throat singing OGG file...
That's been pretty typical for me here, compiling may not "fix" it, but it sure will hint at what's broken, every time. Have fun with beagle, it's been VERY useful here.
