BCM5700 and RH 2.4-20.8

I did some stupid things (new to linux and all) like updaes and what have you. At any rate, I did the kernel update (31.9) and redid the drivers and what have you. After sone annoying issues with my ethernet adapter, I put the boot disk for the 31.9 kernel aside and figured I would go back to using 20.8 and put the source back on so I could actually function.

Trick is, after all that I am STILL loosing my Broadcom 5700 drivers when I reboot. Any ideas on what or how to resolve would be both kind as well as appreciated.

My next project I think will be getting WINE and HL to run on the box, as I am as quickly as possible running away from Bill as if my behind where on fire.

**On a side note, I noticed ALOT of posting on the dual monitor and Nvidia issues, I actually got mine working pretty good if its of interest aI can post my config file for anyone to have a look. My specs *should* be listed in my sig.

I have a similar problem dealing with the Broadcom 5700 driver. I'm running Suse 9.1 on the Dell Poweredge SC420 and it cannot detect the ethernet card. So I tried putting the driver but it did not help matters. Any help in getting Suse to find the ethernet card would be helpful.

You can try some of the suggestions in this thread. I'm having the same problem as you and haven't yet managed to fix it, but the originator of that thread has managed to solve the problem in his own case.

I'll post here if I find any other solutions. Please do the same.

Well, with Suse 9.2, I was able to solve the problem because Suse was able to detect the network card properly this time. So if you guys are using Suse 9.1 and have a problem with the Broadcom ethernet card, try 9.2.
