Battery on panel in gnome
 

Hi All,

I previously had a battery indicator on the panel in gnome. It disappeared one day, and never came back :( - If I right click and select "add to panel" it is no longer there on the list. I am running debian testing, and the required package is xfce4-battery-plugin. I can see the battery stats in proc, and other (window based) battery monitoring tools work well....


I think it is a problem with the panel.... How do I debug? - Where do I look for error messages?

(gnome 2.14, 2.6.17 kernel. Toshiba laptop).
