batch deploy file/changes/scripts to a couple if machine

Hello,

i have some server where I sometimes need to change an entry in a config file or install a news file/script. Right now I log into each server and wget or scp the file or just edit the config by hand, on each server.
Is there a way to automate this process, so that i can create a lit/configfile with all the servers and than deploy the new file to all machine at once?

greetings

Rupertt

There are lots of ways that this could be done with. Cfengine may be what you are looking for if you don't want to go the home brew way. Check out cfengine.org
