1. how to uninstall a .rpm file installed manually(i recently installed yahooo messenger downloded in rpm format and i want to uninstall it.)?

2. how can i view the hidden files in GUI mode?

  1. We don't know what distro are you using. Just that it isn't rpm based, but it may be many different ones.
  2. We also don't know which GUI are you using for the files problem.

You should perhaps check this.

man rpm will give you the answer. The answer, though, is rpm -e <programname>

In Konqueror, there is a "view hidden files" option. I'd guess that all the browsers have that option.
