.bash[rc|_profile] not working
Whenever I log into my server, I expect that .bash_profile in my home directory should execute. For some reason it doesn't. Basically all of my cool console settings are in .bashrc and .bash_profile is supposed to execute .bashrc.
It doesn't.
david@vserver-lublink ~ $ ls -lha
total 45M
drwxr-sr-x 6 david users 4.0K 2006-12-19 21:11 .
drwxrwsr-x 7 root staff 59 2006-12-04 11:46 ..
-rw------- 1 david users 5.3K 2006-12-19 21:12 .bash_history
-rwxr-xr-x 1 david users 236 2006-12-19 21:07 .bash_profile
-rwxr--r-- 1 david users 2.0K 2006-12-19 21:02 .bashrc
I have done some reserach, and I cannot seem to find why it's not executing. My user has execute permission on both scripts.
When I connect using ssh to the server, it doesn't execute. I copied the files into ~root/ and enter root using, 'su'. It executes for root, but not for me. Did I miss something here?
Any ideas?
Thanks,
David
