I just would like to know about a bandwidth monitor program that works with debian xfce.
All I want is a program that:
1- easy to install & read.
2- comes with a taskbar widget & monitors my usage live.
3- has a feature that enables me to calculate my monthly usage from a certain date of the month.
4- (optional) can put a limit to my usage either daily or monthly.
Please note that I'm a beginner and I mostly use the terminal for installing and basic commands; I don't want a non-GUI program.
I already installed vnstat on other desktop environments but I can't see it on xfce. I googled this a lot but I couldn't find what I want. I'd appreciate any help, Thanks.
$ aptitude show vnstat

Beskrivning: console-based network traffic monitor
vnStat is a network traffic monitor for Linux. It keeps a log of daily
network traffic for the selected interface(s). vnStat is not a packet
sniffer. The traffic information is analyzed from the /proc
filesystem, so vnStat can be used without root permissions.
