Bandwidth hungry OpenOffice updates

In my updates (in Mandriva 2008 Spring) I get lots of language support updates popping up. I realized this some time ago when on a slow connection, and it was downloading enormous files for Czech language support and others. (No, I do not speak Czech and have never set anything to Czech on my computer.)
  • Can I turn this off?
  • Can OpenOffice be fixed to not download large unwanted files?

Mandriva has the ability to blacklist designated packages from updating by putting them on a "skip" list". I'm not that familiar with the syntax, but you apparently just edit /etc/urpmi/skip.list. Here's a post that goes into the process in a little more detail:

language,, update
