Baffled w/Debian 3.1

Downloaded Debian 3.1 iso. Got it going and then it couldn't connect to any FTP sites to download programs using
Wi-Fi connection. I am left with no x window, just a command prompt. How can I get a KDE menu going so I can examine why it wont connect or how i can delete debian and try some other distro.

First off. You cannot get X working at all? Are you getting errors? Can you post your xorg.conf and Xorg.0.log files? If you can give us more info, we'll be glad to help.

As far as getting any other distro, just download the iso and during the setup you format the partition anyway.

If you are saying that after the machine boots up and you log in, you are taken to a command line prompt (instead of a GUI), just enter
Not sure that really applies to your situation though, as mentioned above if you could provide additional details that would be very helpful
