bad interpreter error message

Hi there

I have a .scr script which I am trying to run, but every time I do so, I get the following error:

/bin/bash: bad interpreter: Permission denied

I have checked that bash is installed and is in the said directory and all seems to be fine. But, I still get the error.

Can anyone please advice as to what else I could try?

I am using Suse 9.0

Thanks in advance

Make sure the first line in your script looks like:
Make sure the file is executable
chmod +x yourscriptname.scr

I hit the same problem today and found that I had the funky ^M characters because some editted the file in dos. I ran dos2unix on the file and it cleaned it up for me.

I only realized this because vi said [dos] at the bottom....
