Unhappy "Bad address"

iwlist scan

ra0 interface doesn't support scanning: Bad address

What does "Bad address" mean? Do I have to pull the card out and plug it somewhere else?

thanks

You could just have an unsupported card for scanning. Check the hardware compatibility list for your card and see if it's on there. If not, you're SOL.

Yes, the card is unsupported. The Opensource drivers (from the community) is very broken, and the ones on their website is not well documented.

To what I saw, I need to recompile wireless tools and the drivers in order to support the new wireless extensions in the linux kernels after version 2.6.12 .

I'll make it work... somehow, then I'll post back here how I got the RT61 raLink cards work on slackware 10.1 (my profile is not a good indication of what distro I use: I have about 4 different computer with different distros...)
