Backup Utility

I am using Vector Linux 5 as a samba file server and would like to automate backups nightly.

There doesn't seem to be any built in utility for backing up my files. What free utility can I install to automate backups to my second Hard Drive?

Use Storix software - the free desktop edition one (it's a graphical backup agent) -- (You also get free support!)

You can do bare metal restore, etc, indv. directories. (You must be a home user... not a biz....) If so, your free. Just select Desktop license.

The hard drive you'll be backing your PC up MUST be dedicated to Storix.

Remove the line from /etc/fstab and un-mount . That's how storix recongizes drive, and then follow docs or call them or mail them.

Great stuff.
