backup n restore on multiple cds

hi all,

If i have a list of files whose size is lless than 650 Mb

Then I can use "mkisofs -0 1.iso --path... <pathtofiles>" and i will burn the

1.iso using cdrecord ...... and i can easily restore it when needed

What if i have to backup files which is more than 650Mb

How i have to split the 1.iso(>650Mb) in to two file one of 650 Mb

and the remaining part ..My problem will be solved if I can form

two intermidiate iso namely

The above two files i can write on a cd and while restoring them

I have the problem as the iso's wiill write just the files and I just don't see the

iso's and i just see the files on the cds and i also donno where the splitting has

been taken place.. Is there any way to remember the place where splitting

has been taken place as i have to automatically restore the data frm the cds

Any solutions..

Thanks for reading n thanks in anticipation..

Try Mondo Rescue. It allows you to create sets of backup CD's, as many as required. They can also be made bootable to you can make a complete system restore from the disks. Very neat.
