Back space in mozilla problem

Hi friends,

Actually when I press the backspace key in Mozilla Firefox browser, it redirects me to the previous page visited on a Windows operating system.
  1. Why does it not happen in Ubuntu 14.04?
  2. Is this property inherent in Ubuntu?
  3. Is there any way to implement this functionality in Mozilla Firefox browser on Ubuntu system?

in firefox type: "about:config" in the address box and "backs" in the filter box and set whatever value you like for the backspace button, you will have to google for what value does what.
