back in time

Anyone using the software back in time? (similar to apple's time machine)

do you think it would work if I have a crash, then restore my system but use a different account name that i used to before the crash?

because it happened to me and couldnt retrieve anything
only a few days later it occurred to me the reason might be that i was using a different username...

what do you think?

Put your home directory on its own partition- that way when you reinstall you will still have all your documents- the only thing this solution cannot guard against is the drive failing.
