Azureus on Debian: connection error (invalid reply: <html>

All,

Being a complete Linux numpty as it seems I do have a problem getting Azureus to get a green face and to download something...
The error I get in the section Tracker status is:
connection error (invalid reply: <html>

I tried to find a solution on LQ and other forums but seemingly just don't find the answer.
So this is what I have:
Debian sarge
ADSL cable modem

Azureus' NAT/firewall test says:
Testing port 6881....ok!

Other things that could be useful:

#nmap localhost
Starting nmap 3.81 at 2005-11-25 21:58 CET
Interesting ports on localhost.localdomain (127.0.0.1):
(The 1656 ports scanned but not shown below are in state: closed)
PORT STATE SERVICE
22/tcp open ssh
25/tcp open smtp
111/tcp open rpcbind
113/tcp open auth
538/tcp open gdomap
675/tcp open unknown
696/tcp open unknown
Nmap finished: 1 IP address (1 host up) scanned in 0.372 seconds

#iptables -L
Chain INPUT (policy ACCEPT)
target prot opt source destination

Chain FORWARD (policy ACCEPT)
target prot opt source destination

Chain OUTPUT (policy ACCEPT)
target prot opt source destination

Any help, comments or maybe links to documents that could help are highly appreciated!
Also if someone thinks that this kind of problem could be resolved using some other file sharing tool...I would be glad to hear about that.

Thanks,
i.

Could be one of those "members only" sites.

I just came across the same thing. I looked up the tracker and reg'd on the site. That took care of it for me.
