Unhappy AVI Video or Sound

I have been trying to play some AVIs I have and no matter what player I use I either get video or sound, but I don't seem to ever get both, does anyone know any software I could use for this.

I'm running SuSE 8.2 Pro on KDE 3.1. Someone please help me
