avi player for linux


I want to have an avi player for linux. I am using
Red Hat-9 version of linux (quite old na but is most stable).

Install mplayer or xine with win32 codecs.

I got so many players...
But the one I always open up is mplayer. Seems to be the most versatile, also there is lots of info on these forums if you need help installing or configuring.

I use Xine with win32 codecs and livdvdcss2 and I can ply just about anything including DVD. Works great.
