AVG anti-virus for Linux
I am trying to install AVG anti-virus 7.0 for Linux on a Slackware 10.1 machine.
I downloaded the avglinux-7.0-15_avi0463.i386.tar.gz file, unpacked it and ran the install script. It installed the command line virus scanner (avgscan), but it didn't install the GUI version of the program. The manual lists several dependencies that are required, the one required for the GUI is PyGTK: Quote:
I can't seem to find pygtk-libglade, although I thought that was part of the pygtk package. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? |
Well, this is a trial version anyway. They want money for it after 30 days. 30 days for a trial version in an operating system with few viruses. I don't think they have their heads on straight. They don't charge for the windows personal use version and they shouldn't be charging for the linux side of things.
Not only that, but the command-line version is very buggy. When you scan you scan it all and this program bombs out due to how it can't resolve pathing properly. |
