autoscrolling termnal to autoscroll

i hve just installed https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/tag/autoscroll which lets content scrolling be toggled, at customiseable speed.

so there's a clear example of what i seek.

well, that's for the browser.

i want the same for the terminal.

is there an existing tool or trick for autoscrolling term text?

ideally something that will work with tty. tho if its a feature of some gui terminal, i'm still curious/interested.

why install a plugin ??????
this is part OF THE browser already
you only need to turn it "on"

open
Code:
about:config
and SET!!!!
Code:
general.autoScroll
toggle it to "TRUE "

then all you need to do is click the MIDDLE mouse button and a icon pops up with up and down arrows

this has been part of firefox SINCE DAY ONE!!!!!!!!!!!
