Automount Problem

Hi!!

My cdrom refused to automount today for some reason (maybe because its sunday ) -> I did /etc/init.d/autofs restart and this is what I got:

umount2: Device or resource busy [ OK ]
umount: /mnt: device is busy

Starting automount: No Mountpoints Defined [ OK ]

The "mountpoints" are well defined in fstab, however in /mnt all the directories are now gone??!! I tried the usual mkdir floppy, for example, and it says:

mkdir: cannot create directory `floppy': File exists???

Does anyone have an explanation for that??? And why is it trying to unmount /mnt when I do the autofs restart??

Some additional info I forgot to post: I am running Fedora Core 1, and those commands were executed as root so there is no obvious reason not to create the directories.

looksl like you may have a shell/file browser still using or residing in /mnt - hence the device or resource busy reply from umount
