Automatic Re-configuration of X
 

I am running Mandrake 10.0 on my Dimension 4600. I can't seem to get the video display to properly fit the screen. None of the resolutions seem to work and I even added the bug patch for the 75dpi resolution. I am trying to manually fix it but everytime I restart X, X seems to automatically re-configure everything back and my changes are not saved. Does anyone know how to disable the automatic re-configuration of X?
