Automatic -dpi option for startx

I'm running Slackware 9, KDE 3.1, XFree86 4.3, and I'm using KDM. The default DPI setting is 115x115, which is absolutely huge. I have it set up so that it does it automatically when I run startx myself (I edited xserverrc), but I can't get it to work with KDM. I've tried changing the Xservers file in the xdm config, but nothing happens. I've also looked at xinitrc, but that was no help, either. What else can I do?

Can you reveal what you did with the changes in xserverrc? I tried, but could not get the syntax correct the first time so took the easy way out and put an alias with the -dpi option in .alias. Unfortunately for you, I am happy booting in run level 3, so I can't help you with KDM.

My xserverrc reads:
Code:
X :0 -dpi 75
And...I got it working! I had to edit the KDM Xservers file (on Slackware, it's /opt/kde/share/config/kdm/Xservers).
