Automated E-Mail cleansing.

There are, on the server, thousands of E-Mails in /var/spool/mail. Old E-Mails, going back years. Users delete them from their computers, but they stay on the server. It's adding up, so we're getting a serious space crunch on the server.

I want to get rid of them, quickly. Right now, about the only idea I have is laboriously going through each file in /var/mail, looking at the time stamps, and manually deleting thousands of lines of text until I've deleted all E-Mails less than, say, six months old.

There has to be a decent utility out there that can trim these. Any ideas?
