Automate Application Restart

Hey everyone,

I was curious if this is possible within Linux.

I have an application that runs on my Linux server. It has the tendency to crash every now and then. I was curious if it is possible to automate a restart for this program if it crashes on me.

Has anyone fooled around with this before? If you need any info let me know

Thanks in advance for your help!

I'm sure there is a much better way, but off of the top of my head, you could have a cron job running every so often checking to see if your app is running and if not, start it.

Well the only thing is, is that it doesnt run in the background. When it runs it takes up with window. You can do nothing else while it runs :S

Would the cron still work for that?
