Autologin to KDE from SSH
I have a home server setup that I like to connect to from work using both a SSH session and sometime a VNC session (to use KDE). When the box is booted, it sits at the XWindows (gdm?) graphical login prompt waiting for a user. Once the user is logged in, it automatically starts the VNC session so I can remotely control the desktop.
I just recently rebooted my box remotely and can SSH in to a shell prompt, but the VNC isn't up since I can't login to KDE. Does anyone know of a way I can get KDE to login and start a VNC session from a SSH shell prompt? Thanks for the help in advance. |
Type gdmsetup as boot to edit options in order to autologin.
If your login manager is KDM, you have to modify options in kcontrol-->admin-->login manager |
