Autoconf2.5...

Hi all

Few days ago I've installed Mandriva Linux 2005 LE and only one thing I hate till now: problems during install autoconf2.5 with dependencies

I've downloaded autoconf2.5-2.59-6mdk.noarch.rpm

Then install told me to get autoconf2.1

Ok, so I've downloaded autoconf2.1-2.13-21mdk.noarch.rpm

And now every time I try to install this package, I get: "Some package requested cannot be installed: autoconf2.1-2.13-21mdk.noarch (due to unsatisfied /usr/share/autotools/ac-wrapper.pl)"

Any ideas?

You are having problems with package dependencies. The best way to install software on most Linux distros is to package managers because they automatically resolve any dependencies. Mandrivas package manager is called urpmi and you can find out more about it from zebulon.org.uk. You can find instructions on how to add more urpmi sources at easyurpmi. You need to setup the main, contrib, plf and updates sources.
