Audio Driver Install M7VIG Pro-D

Hi all!

Never installed Linux drivers before. I've been reading through the forums and have some ideas now, but I'm not sure if I'm on the right path.

I have a M7VIG PRO-D motherboard and no Linux drivers that I am aware of, thus no sound. I checked out the site for the motherboard and found plentyof drivers for Windows but none for Linux. Wondering if I am missing something completely here or if I should load a generic sound driver for Linux instead. If I should load a generic, what would I choose?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

The alsa driver "via82xx" should run that.
If you have alsa, run alsaconf from a term.
