k3b is already capable of burning audio CD's. Have you tried to burn one, and if so, what was the result?

Everybody has that problem.

That's because Mp3 is patented technology and so it doesn't come as standard with your linux distribution. It's a legal grey area. The same goes with watching DVDs on Linux too, if you didn't know. (For that you need the libdvdcss package: possibly not legal in America / Germany, but ok everywhere else I think).

However, getting the mp3 packages (totally legally) off the net is quite easy. The mp3 plugin for k3b is the k3b-mad package. Use YaST to download it, if you have the internet on your home computer.
If you want to be able to create mp3s you need the Lame encoder. Use Yast for that too.

(You all have the internet on your home computers and so can YaST, yes?)

What version of k3b are you using? Apparently the latest release of k3b (0.12) is supposed to be able to handle wma files:

...Apart from that we have new audio decoding plugins for Musepack audio files, for all libsndfile and ffmpeg supported audio formats (this includes wma audio files)...

If that still doesn't work, and if you want to, I supppose you could convert them to mp3/wav. If you use audiokonverter, you can just right click select all the files you want to convert (batch mode) and off the right click menu select what format you want to change them to. Neat little program.
