audio adblocker aka [beep] machine

What software can be used to censor certain expressions in audio stream such as known brand names or 5 seconds after each 'sponsored by'? I am not even looking for some fancy solution which removes voice and leave ambient sounds although it would be nice, a simple mute will do. Ideally it should be available as a filter for video player but offline processing is also ok.

In the past, a common way for video players to recognize and cut out spot commercials was by their different volume level from adjacent parts of the stream. I don't know how well this would work nowadays considering the CALM Act.

It's not about the commercials, it's about sponsored messages inside the program e.g. when sports commentator refers to car tyres not as 'tyres' but 'dunlops' or 'michleins' or whatever, and 'lets go through the field brought to you by some crap'.

Since you say offline processing is ok, maybe check whether audiogrep can either be inverted to remove matching words/phrases instead, or simply to output the timestamps at which they occur (then use something else to do the muting/whatever).

On the detecting commercials front, there is this blog post on audio ad-blocking but it doesn't offer solutions for sponsored messages (other than pointing out that speech recognition is likely the first step).
