ATI Xpert 2000 and X

I just got a nice new ATI AGP graphics card, an Xpert 2000 tv-out incase you didn't guess, and i can't for the life of me get the git to work properly under redhat71 or mandrake8. I got Mandrake through the post this morning and am trying to get it all set up... bit too sparkly i think.. but anyway. So the problem is that the Xpert 2000 isn't listed in the card database, and simply installing it as a Rage Fury or such like (I've tried EVERY single one!) has not got me anywhere. the Mandrake installation has just set it down as a standard VGA adapter and i can't change the resolution from 800x600 to something sensible for a 17" monitor, as it deletes all higher modes. These modes get deleted apparently because the frequency is too high. Is this wrt the monitor or card, cos My monitor is correctly configured (or rtather the right driver exists.. wether it works well or not.. iiyama 8617E i think.

so yeah.. that's my problem in a fairly drawn out nutshell.

all help very much gratefully goodly recived

Thanks for th help, but it doesbn't work. I found out that some Xperrt2000 cards have a different chipset to others (useful huh?) and that approach doesn't work.

Well, i'm taking it back to the shop today.. thanks all the same
