ATI remote wonder (remote control) and X

I have an ATI Remote Wonder - it is an RF remote control. It works fine and shows up as a keyboard extension. Tried xev and all buttons are recognized..

Although I can reassign the keys using xmodmap, is there any way of running a script when I press a specific button? I can do it through KDE, but it only works there (obviously).

Your best bet is looking at LIRC, you could probably use KDE's key binding function for this but LIRC was designed for it.

Hmm, it seems that ati_remote is modprobed, instead off lirc_atiusb...

OK, I have removed ati_remote and loaded lirc_atiusb, using this http://fedoranews.org/contributors/y.../remotewonder/ guide, however irw gives nothing...

Seems to me that I have to put more effort in it.
