ATI driver prolems with UT2004

Alright, all of the posts I saw in the search here dealt with Nvidia drivers. Damn ATI has horrible support in my opinion for their drivers... Almost makes me wish I never switched to ATI this time around. Well, here's the problem. In windows, ATI was awesome with this game! 80 fps averages, FSAA, everything on highest quality, it was great! Now, in Linux, I run all normal quality and still barely 19-20 fps. This can't be right! I'm furious! I have direct acceleration enabled and everything! When I quit the game I this error:

Code:

WARNING: ALC_EXT_capture is subject to change!
Xlib: extension "XiG-SUNDRY-NONSTANDARD" missing on display ":0.0".

Any ideas? I also noted that when I installed the 4.3 ATI drivers and tried to modprobe agp-gart, and intel_agp they didn't exist! I am running kernel 2.4.26 just for added info. Any ideas why the poor performance? Thanks!
