ATi card, ATI driver & Slackware 10.2
Hi! I have slackware 10.2, kernel 2.4.31, X.org 6.8.2 ATI RADEON 9200 graphic card and I have installed this driver: https://support.ati.com/ics/su...tas...ge&folderID=27 . Games are working but everything seems so "zoomed" - when I put 1024x768 (and anything except 1792x1344) it looks awful - zoomed one little window covers my whole desktop, a half of my desktop I can't see ...
This is my xorg file:

# NOTE: This is a NEW IMPROVED version of XF86Config-fbdev that uses the vesa
# driver instead of the fbdev driver. Thanks to Kenneth Fanyo who pointed
# this out to me.
# This XF86Config file is designed for use with the VESA framebuffer.
# This generic interface should work with nearly all video cards
# (although not every card will support every resolution).
# With the new driver, it should no longer be required to have frame buffer
# support in the kernel, or to run it on the console.

What are your monitor or lcd panel specs? Check back or side of montor or google particular model for same info. I mean optimal horiz. and vert. refresh rates. Does your /etc/X11/xorg.conf show those ranges? How much videoram comes on your videocard? Does your /etc/X11/xorg.conf show that? If you fix these settings is your display better? Try it step by step. SW xorgsetup can guess for you but xorgconfig will ask you for required info.

I'll give my xorg.conf files.
This is slackware default xorg.conf (without ati support) - it works fine, resolution is fine, screen is fine :

I see two major differences. First, the horizontal and vertical frequencies for your monitor are different. In the first example, they are 31.5-50 and 40-90 but in the second example they are 30-85 and 50-160. I don't know what the correct specs should be for your monitor, but obviously, for any given monitor, only one set of frequency rates would apply. Also, the video driver specified in the second example is the generic "vga" while the first example uses "vesa". If you are attempting to use ATI, the driver should be something like "fglrx"
I'm not sure that you have actually installed the ATI drivers (your link is returning a 404). I would recommend using the first xorg.conf, and reinstalling the ATI drivers. Good luck with it
