Aterm Underscores

I'm having a problem when I type text within aterm. When typing text an underscore will randomly appear underneath a letter or a space. I have no idea what's causing this, and it's really annoying. Does anyone know what it could be? The text acts like normal, it's just a 'visual' underscore. Here's an example of an underscore under the 'e'.

IMAGE

If it's any help, here is my .Xdefaults file:

Code:
XTerm*foreground: #FFFFFF
XTerm*background: #000000
!Aterm*reverseVideo: true
Aterm*transparent: true
Aterm*shading: 100
Aterm*visualBell: true
Aterm*saveLines: 2048
Aterm*transpscrollbar: true
Aterm*loginShell: true
!Aterm*font: -artwiz-snap-*
!Aterm*font: lucidasanstypewriter-12
Aterm*pointerColor: grey
Aterm*fading: 100
Aterm*textType: or
!Aterm*tintingType: invert
Aterm*tinting: white
Aterm*cutchars: !"$%'()*+,;<>[\]^`{|}
Aterm*geometry: 80x30
Aterm*scrollBar: false
Xft.antialias: true
I tried fooling around with the font, but it does it no matter what font I choose.

does this happen only in aterm, or is xterm affected in the same way? does it happen in aterm only when you have transparancy enabled? maybe upgrading aterm would help.

ps: is that a dragon network (lineage server) wallpaper?

Thanks for the reply.

1. This happens only in aterm. When I tested everything in xterm the underscores do not happen.

2. This happens only when I have full transparency enabled. If I lower the transparency it'll stop doing the underscores. I'm running the latest stable version of afterm, I tried downgrading, but the underscores still happen.

3. Not sure if the wallpaper is part of the dragon network, but I got the wallpaper from here: http://devaux.fabien.free.fr/whax/

Again, thanks for the reply.
